TRIAL 100 M IN 50 M POOL

Men and ladies take part in separate categories. Total distance is 100 m. At the starting point athletes must be ready on pool curbstones wearing scuba.

The distance takes place in a 50m pool. The athlete starts an underwater part until the 15m line. Then he starts apnoea after leaving his equipment after the 15m bottom line of the pool ; the athlete emerges after the 35 meters’ line, and continues surface swimming until he reaches a 75m total length distance.

The Athlete immerses with apnoea, puts on his equipment, and ends underwater until he covered the decided length.

TRIAL 200 M IN 50 M POOL

Men and ladies take part in separate categories. Total distance is 200 m. At the starting point athletes must be ready on pool curbstones wearing scuba.

Men and ladies take part in separate categories. Total distance is 200 m. At the starting point athletes must be ready on pool curbstones wearing scuba. After start they enter to the water by giant step, descend and start swimming underwater using scuba. At any place, but not later than the mark of 15 m, an athlete should remove his scuba, establish negative buoyancy for scuba and leave it at the bottom. If scuba set has positive buoyancy and swims up, penalty time is 10 seconds.

Athletes continue swimming underwater with the breath hold and can ascend and start free style swimming using mask, snorkel and fins at any moment after crossing the mark of 15 m, but earlier than 15 m from opposite sidewall. An athlete should make a reverse near the pool border and continue free style swimming using mask, fins and snorkel. After an athlete completes the second pool length (total distance is 100 m) he/she makes a reverse and descends underwater with breath hold. An athlete has right for optional stop near the border for breath control before breath hold diving. Then an athlete must swim underwater, reach his/her scuba, start breathing from the regulator and continue swimming underwater, same time replacing and adjusting scuba.

Scuba must be completely replaced and adjusted before 15 m mark from the opposite border, otherwise the penalty time is 10 seconds. An athlete should make a reverse near pool sidewall and continues swimming underwater using scuba and finish when the  distance is 200 meters. Finish is registered when athlete touches the pool border with his/her hand.

TRIAL 300 M IN 50 M POOL

Men and ladies take part in separate categories. Total distance is 300 m.

OCTOPUS 50 M IN 50 M POOL

Total distance is 50 meters. Pairs of 2 men, 2 ladies and mixed couples take part in OCTOPUS 50 m. At the starting point athletes must be ready on the right and left sides from pool curbstones. One athlete must wear scuba, another one should use mask, snorkel and fins.

NOTE: in mixed couples the team can decide who will wear scuba – man or lady. After start divers enter to the water by giant step. Scuba diver (next donor) descends and swims underwater.

The finswimmer (next acceptor) swims underwater with the breath hold. At the segment 1-15 m from the border donor must supply acceptor with alternate air source (octopus). Acceptor must start breathing from octopus and keep a stable physical contact with donor, avoiding octopus loss. If athletes start air sharing later than 15 m the penalty is 10 seconds. They finish the distance  when they reach opposite border (50 m). Finish is registered when the scuba diver touches the border with his hand. Maximum length of octopus hose is 110 cm.

OCTOPUS 100 M IN 50 M POOL

Total distance is 100 meters. Pairs (2 men or 2 ladies) take part in OCTOPUS 100 m in 50 m pool. At the starting point athletes must be ready on the right and left sides from pool curbstones. One athlete must wear scuba, another one should use mask, snorkel and fins.

Acceptor must start breathing from octopus and keep a stable physical contact with donor, avoiding octopus loss. If athletes start air sharing later than 15 m the penalty is 10 seconds. Athletes should continue swimming in a physical contact and sharing air.  At the 15 m line before opposite border athletes can stop air sharing and make reverse independently and start sharing again after reverse (but not later than 15 m). They finish the distance  when they reach opposite border (100 m). Finish is registered when the scuba diver touches the border with his hand. Maximum length of octopus hose is 110 cm.

50 M EMERSION (LIFT BAG) 4 KG IN 50 M POOL

Men and ladies take part in separate categories. Total distance is 50 m. At the starting point athletes must be ready on pool curbstones wearing scuba. The should have inflatable buoy or lifting bag. It must be folded, athletes can hold them in their hands.

This race is carried out in a 50 meters’ pool. It consists of an underwater movement over a distance of 25 meters, and then the emergence of an object of 4kg, only with the aid of a lift bag. It ends by an underwater movement up to 50m, as quickly as possible.

It is a solo event, men or women, based on an underwater movement over 50m.

OBSTACLE COURSE 100 M IN 50 M POOL

Total distance is 100 meters. Pairs of 2 men, 2 ladies and mixed couples take part in OBSTACLE COURSE 100 m in 50 m pool. One team uses 3 lines of the pool.

Athletes must be ready on pool curbstones wearing scuba. Each diver of the team uses own curbstone. After start they enter to the water by giant step, descend and start swimming underwater using scuba. First they enter to tunnels, each one is 2 m length. Tunnels consist of rigid rings 90 cm in diameter. Each athlete passes own tunnel. An athlete can touch the rings inside tunnel, but mustn’t move the construction along the bottom. If the movement of the tunnel is registered by judge, the team is disqualified. Divers passes through their tunnels and continue underwater swimming. Before the mark of 15 m they should start air sharing. One diver (donor) must supply another one (acceptor) with alternate air source (octopus). Acceptor must start breathing from octopus and keep a stable physical contact with donor, avoiding octopus loss. If athletes start air sharing later than 15 m the penalty is 10 seconds. Maximum length of octopus hose is 110 cm. Divers continue swimming while air sharing until they reach the mark of 42 m (8 m from the opposite border). They stop air sharing and continue to swim autonomously. 5 m before an opposite wall there are 2 baskets at the bottom. Divers should take off their masks and put them into the baskets. Than they must no-mask swim, touch the wall, reverse, turn back to the baskets, find the masks, replace them, clean and continue the distance. At the third pool line there is one long 5 m tunnel. Divers should remove their scubas and pass this tunnel one by one wearing scuba in no-mount position. After tunnel divers should replace scubas. After the tunnel there is a big 1.5 kg object at the pool bottom.

Usually it is a fitness ball filled with water for negative buoyancy. Divers should lift an object to the surface before they reach the mark of 25 m (middle of the pool). If they do it later the penalty is 10 seconds. They should swim backward at the surface while towing an object. The finish is registered when both divers touch the wall. The team must finish the distance as a team in a contact with an object and each other.
