CMAS CARDS

Examples of CMAS cards
CMAS CARDS
CMAS cards are issued by national federations and ensure worldwide recognition of their certifications.
They consist of two faces, the front for CMAS and the back for the national federation.
C1. I have lost or damaged my CMAS card
You must contact the national federation that issued it to request a new CMAS card.
You can contact the relevant federation:
- Directly on its website;
- If you do not have this information, consult the CMAS website to find its contact details:
- Africa: https://www.cmas.org/national-federations/africa.html
- America: https://www.cmas.org/national-federations/america.html
- Asia: https://www.cmas.org/national-federations/asia.html
- Europe: https://www.cmas.org/national-federations/europe.html
- Oceania: https://www.cmas.org/national-federations/oceania.html
C2. CMAS plastic cards and virtual cards (CMAS portal)
The situation is as follows:
- The CMAS plastic card alone is sufficient to prove your certification.
- The CMAS virtual card alone is also sufficient to prove your certification.
CMAS plastic cards are secured by a hologram and certify your level.
CMAS plastic cards attest to the certification, without the need for additional online verification (it is not mandatory to be registered on the CMAS portal by national federation).
The centralised CMAS certification database is gradually being put online, over a period of several years. It is the duty of each National Federation to load their members information onto the CMAS portal.
The search on CMAS Portal confirms if a certification is registered online, but a missing result does not mean the certification is invalid.
C3. How to obtain a CMAS card in my country?
To obtain a CMAS card in a given country, you must:
- be certified by an organisation affiliated with a national federation that is a member of CMAS;
- this federation must issue CMAS cards.
CMAS Cards are issued only by national federation (don't contact CMAS directly):

The validity period of CMAS cards depends on the federation that issued them.
Cards may be valid indefinitely or have an expiry date.
This information is usually available on the side of the card corresponding to your federation.
