Death of Mr. Pierre Perraud

Dear Friends,
We regret to inform you of the passing of Mr Pierre PERRAUD, former President of the CMAS from
1985 to 1990 and former President of the FFESSM from 1977 to 1980. He has held the position of
Honorary President of the CMAS since 1980.

He played a pivotal role in enabled the major international development of underwater activities
in the scientific and cultural fields. Through his actions it has allowed the IOC to recognise our
activities through swimming with fins and full recognition from UNESCO.

His interest in the underwater world never abated, he even gave a nice video interview for the
FFESSM 75th anniversary AGM last December when he was 97 years old.

All our affectionate thoughts and deep condolences are with Jackie, his wife and his loved ones.
