C.R. Flamengo spearfishermen dominate II World Cup for Clubs
Francisco Loffredi, Kevin Sansao, and Raphael Ambrosio, spearfishermen from the C.R. Flamengo club, emerged victorious in the second edition of the CMAS World Cup for Clubs held in Rio de Janeiro. The event was organized by the Associacao Paulista de Pesca Submarina and hosted by the Yacht Club Rio de Janeiro.
Loffredi, Sansao, and Ambrosio secured first place on both days of the competition. In total, they caught 24 fish, accumulating a score of 58355 points (equivalent to 200,000%).
The second place was claimed by the Italian team CICA Sub, represented by the legendary Stefano Bellani and Maurizio Ramacciotti. They maintained their position as runners-up on both days, catching a total of 14 fish and scoring 47545 points (equivalent to 163,358%).
The third-place finish went to the ACPS team, composed of Thiago Barbi, Jose Carlos Jr., Aristides Tufi, and Humberto Pftzer. They secured 10 fish and scored 31330 points (equivalent to 112,067%).
The largest pelagic fish, a Bermuda chub weighing 3475 grams, was caught by George Vasiliou from the XT Diving Pro Team. Meanwhile, Victor Ribeiro Pereira from Team APPS 2 landed the heaviest bottom fish, a Black margate weighing 6150 grams. The C.R. Flamengo team claimed the title for catching the highest number of fish.
