Axolotls from Mexico City, on the way to start playing Underwater Rugby.

An enthusiastic former National Team Colombian player, Isabel Botero is fully determined to have an UWR team playing in a few months.

Isabel started the team a few years back in 2019, they were playing 3 times per week, and even, they had the opportunity to play and exhibition game in the Olympic Pool "Alberca Olimpica" with two full teams, but COVID arised and all her hard work went down. She took UWR as well to Guadalajara, a city northwest of Mexico city, to show the sport at the "Universidad de Guadalajara".

In 2021 there was another attempt, but it did not go further, as the person in charge, an experienced Venezuelan player, had to move out from the city, which in words of Isabel "is one of the main problems that the team has faced, as lots of players have changed cities since they started playing".

Now, after the Montreal World Championship, she has new motivation to see Mexico playing on the international stage.
