This department is tasked with the responsibility of training CMAS Scientific Diving Instructors and Confirmed Scientific Diving Instructors, as well as creating training guidelines for all levels of Professional Scientific Diving. Its primary objective is to uphold training standards that are in line with global advancements and trends in the field, and to establish protocols and standards that promote safe practices during scientific diving activities.

The training of scientific divers is a crucial function of the CMAS Scientific Committee, and this area plays a pivotal role in this committee. The guidelines produced are obligatory in all training courses for scientific divers provided by National Federations and the Scientific Diving Centers affiliated with CMAS.
