Interview

How did it feel to compete and win again in your home country, Egypt?
It was an incredible feeling to win three gold medals in my home country. Competing in front of my people made it even more special. Their support gave me extra motivation. It's truly an honor to make my country proud on such a big stage.

What made this second title special compared to your first one?
It was special because it proved my consistency and growth. Winning once is amazing, but winning again shows real strength and dedication.

How did you prepare for this World Championship?
There was a long camp before the World Championship. It was intense and well-studied training, and I had to stay focused every day to achieve something great, something that would make the world talk about it and make history.

Can you describe the 5 km race?
The race was challenging, with some wind from the start. I focused on staying relaxed and keeping a steady pace. My strategy was to stay with the lead pack and then push harder in the last 1 to 1.5 km. One key moment was when I made my move, I felt strong and knew it was the right time.

What does this victory mean to you personally, and for Egyptian Finswimming?
This victory means a lot to me personally. It's the result of years of hard work, discipline, and belief in myself. But it's also a big moment for Egyptian Finswimming. I hope it inspires more young swimmers in Egypt.

What message would you like to share with young Finswimmers?
Believe in yourself, trust the process, and never give up. Success will come to those who keep moving forward — don't listen to negativity, just do what you have to do, and don't be afraid of getting tired.
