Signing a mutual cooperation agreement

On March 15th, the President of the CMAS Scientific Committee, Francisco A. Lacase, and the Director of Ghost Diving Spain, Raúl Alvares, signed a mutual cooperation agreement between both organizations in Tossa de Mar, Spain.

This agreement is framed within the objectives of the CMAS UNESCO agreement of June 2023 and aims to inform and train different sectors about the issue of ghost nets and the most efficient and safe way to combat this global scourge.

The agreement is part of a plan that includes the development of citizen science courses to be taught by the CMAS Scientific Committee.

Through this program, the CMAS Scientific Committee reaffirms its commitment to the care and recovery of our submerged cultural and natural heritage.
