I. Mediterranean Beach Games 2015 – Pescara, Italy- Day 2


Rowing Beach Sprint awards first medals of the day. In women’s single the Italian Carmela Pappalardo wins the gold medal with 3.24.54 minutes while the French Berra arrives in 3.37.38 minutes (Silver). The Algerian Chiali gains the bronze medal overcoming the Tunisian Boulares.
In men’s double Gold medal to the French couple Bride-Gazaix, Silver to the Slovenian Ostanek and Pugelj, Bronze to the Italian couple Evangelisti-Pari that got the better of the Greek brothers Gkountoulas.

Beach Tennis quarter-finals end with Italy in the semi-finals in men’s, women’s and mixed. On the eveningmatches the pair Bombini-Galli of San Marino took to the field first beating the capable Cypriot pair Baghdatis-Koutrouza with the result of 7-5, 6-2. Today they will compete for the final with the Italian couple Casadei-Pazzaglia. Just the Italians gained the semi-finals during last match of the day by beating Slovenia 6-2,6-1.

On Beach Handball competitions,a brilliant debut for the two teams of the Italian: men defeat Albania 2-0 while women defeat Slovenia in the shoot out. With regard to the other matches of the morning, good results for men’s team of Slovenia, Tunisia and Cyprus, women’s team of Turkey defeats Tunisia and Greece defeats 2-0 Algeria.

The Italians dominate the 5 km race of Open Water Swimming. Arianna Bridi wins the gold medal beating on seconds the other Italian Giulia Gabrielleschi. Arianna Bridi closes the race with a time of 59: 24.9 while GiuliaGabrielleschi finishes the race with 59:25.2. Bronze medal for the Slovenian Spela Perse with a time of 59:25.6;fourth place for the other Italian Barbara Pozzobon.
