About Disabled Commission

The Commission for Divers with Disabilities was established on July 10th 2017 by the decision of C.M.A.S. BoD (Prot. 433/AA/2017).

In the world of diving, Commission for Divers with Disabilities (further on CDD) is a unique form, which intention is to provide new and current knowledge on the field of diving for persons with disabilities (further on Disabled) in order to help them to become equal part of global diving society no matter what is their level of disability. The CDD will act in accordance to C.M.A.S. internal rules and in accordance to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

The CDD has no president and its acting collectively. Therefore, members of the CDD will seek for connections with scientists, diving equipment producers, dive travel agencies and able-bodied specialists worldwide, in order to ensure to disabled equal use of all C.M.A.S. benefits, provided to able-bodied members.

The CDD is open for cooperation inside C.M.A.S. (Committees ...) as well as to all C.M.A.S. members. For the time being the CDD is sharing knowledge between Croatian Diving Federation (HRS), Russian Diving Federation (CRASA) and International Association for Handicapped Divers Adriatic (IAHD Adriatic) which all established commissions for divers with disabilities.
